The proper color of the paper and/or addressed area is essential to receive automation compatible rates. If Allstates Mailing Services prints the address on the mail piece the address area of the paper can never be red. Postal optical readers have difficulty reading against a red background. Red paper means we have to attach mailing labels, raising the cost of processing. Other pastel colors are okay.
